She paints cakes, chocolates, pistachio-creme-, redcurrent- and rasberry-tartlets. Her paintings seduce with glints on cherries in small ships made of tinfoil.
Milena Aguilar, born 1968 in Linz (Austria)has graduated from the Akademy of Arts in Braunschweig She was masterstudent of Malte Sartorius. Sie In her work - she paints in oil on canvas, does watercolours and etching - she dedicates herself to rather unspectacular sujets like figures in everyday situations , deserted landscapes and stillifes of petits fours.

The half-German and half-Spansih artist has won renouned prizes, like the "Premio Certamen Arte Gráfico" of the printcabinet of the Prado in Madrid, which includes her work in the collection. Milena Aguilar has exhibited her wokr in many international exhibitions and it is represented by Galerie Claudia Delank since 1998. Milena Aguilar lives and works in Berlin.
The filmmaker Marc Ottiker discribes her paintings as follows: "Milena Aguilar breaks the rules of both of classic oil painting and of contemporary art. Trivial objects for pleasure are ennobled through her painting.
In the exhibion Milena Aguilar "Petits Fours and Other Paradises" in the Chocolatemuseum in Cologne Milena Aguilar show besides her paintings of Petits Fours installations of birds of paradise and other inhabitants of paradises made of objets trouve.
